CNBC's Donny Deutsch Calls Christianity 'Absurd'

Last night, on CNBC's seldom viewed show 'The Big Idea', host Donny Deutsch berated his guest, Ann Coulter for the absurdities of her Christian faith. In the interview of Ms. Coulter, she attempted to explain how Christians view their faith as an extension of Judaism, and how Christ's sacrifice 'perfected' Mosaic Law. In response, Deutsch, who himself is Jewish, launched into a fit, feigning indignation and offense at the 'absurdities' of the Christian faith, and attacking Coulter for her beliefs.

In what has come to be common practice among 'big media', Deutsch deviously and brilliantly set Coulter up for his attack. Coulter, herself an outspoken, no-holds-barred, conservative, has long been a lightning rod for the hysteric hatred and intolerance of the anti-American left.

In joining with the radical left, Deutsch's cheap, self-serving, low-class attack on the Christian faith was pointedly aimed at boosting the ratings for what has been a shallow and boring broadcast.

Ironically, but not unexpectedly, the dominant leftist media have turned this sorry episode upside down, and have aimed their venom at Coulter, alleging that it was she and not Deutsch who engaged in the offensive behavior.

I really had greater expectations for Deutsch, since he was seemingly a kind, and encouraging host. Even he, unfortunately, has gone to the gutter seeking the favor of the far left.

So long, Donny. I watched your show every so often. Never again.

The 2007 IgNobel Peace Prize: the envelope please...

This morning's news provided a wonderful opportunity for my first blog post here. And despite the best efforts of Macrosuck's bug-ridden operating system, I may actually get this posted. But don't let me get started on Macrosuck - let's stick to the subject at hand: it is such a wonderful display of absurdity...

Just as with the Academy Awards, it was a foregone conclusion that AlGorge would be this year's recipient of the now-ignoble Nobel Peace Prize. Perhaps the only surprise is that he had to share it with some collection of UN buffoons. But it is fitting that AlGorge join the likes of Jimmy Carter and Yasser Arafat as a prize winner of what once was an esteemed honor.

Interesting, too, that it was but a day or two ago that a British judge determined that AlGorge's movie was rife with error and exaggeration. Of course, the judge did conclude that the basic premise of man-made global warming was accurate. And as a judge, his pronouncements are not required to be logical.

I suppose these people really do take themselves seriously. That's the really creepy part.
